
Perennnial Garden at Thuja Garden
If you are heading up and down the east coast this summer- don’t forget to stop at nearby gardens. Let the kids out of the car to run, and pick a nice shady spot to eat or rest. Here are a few I have visited and loved.
Outside Charlotte, NC- the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden has fabulous water features and acres of plantings that are lush and different in their display. A garden privately designed and built check it out.

The Japanese Gates at the Thuja Garden
Washington D.C –The Bonsai Garden at the National Arboretum. The sculptured bonsai are like the hobbit size that kids can really connect with.
Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania right off Rt. 1 on the Pennsylvania/ Delaware line. – Nationally known –fabulous and large.
Thuja Garden in Northeast Harbor Maine- This garden is lush in the summer with nice cool weather so that it has all the perennials that tend not to like the heat here in Virginia.
