This is an interesting urban landscape design I found in Aspen, Colorado. It is a narrow deep meandering “creek” that wraps itself on both sides of the downtown mall. There is no sound, but it has an amazing effect when you see it as you window shop or sit listening to the violinist street musician. You are surrounded in a sense surrounded by water. The winter effect of circuitous ice must be terrific.
I suspect there are 2 large pumps set up on each end of the mall to push water horizontally through the trenches. What looks like a sandy rocky bottom probably has a cement base underneath to hold the water.
I wonder where I could put that in downtown Richmond? Any ideas?
