Maple Avenue, West End Richmond – Style it Up! Add Value to your House

These clients’ first questions were, “How do I get a better lawn in my front yard.” We put our heads together and had a lot of discussions and I drew a basic concept plan.

Here is what our long talks and the guys’ craftsmanship ended up creating:

  • A new curving brick walk now ties into their older walkway. We created a landing as you come out of the house to ground level. Here you can choose to walk directly to the front street, go to your car in the pull in area or visit the back yard.
  • We decreased the size of the car pull-in from two to one space, so vehicles and ugly gray gravel did not dominate the front of the house.
  • We lay a new cobble edge for the car pull-in, made a step down out of cobblestone and topped with the new pull -in with classy Sherando buff stone.
  • For the plantings, we moved and used the clients’ current inventory. We added a few shade loving light colored blooming shrubs.
  • Bright yellow and light green perennials perk up the shady area.
  • The bright blue blooming Caitlin’s Giant ajuga is an easy maintenance ground cover. It will survive being planted above big tree roots with the help of an old fashioned sprinkler in the summer.

In so far as total transformation, I think this is one of our best!
