Instead of pillars in your driveway . . . try something a little more dramatic

I love driving through neighborhoods and seeing how people mark their entrances or driveways that lead to their houses.

Features to let visitors and gawkers know where you live often include pillars.

But how many times do you see something like this?

My neighbor found this Grand Dog at a local salvage shop. He was brought from an estate in Charlottesville. The forsythia, phlox and pear blossoms give him a colorful background, while the elevated perch gives him a good view at any visitor who may drop by.

Is it no wonder that I approached slowly with a small treat in my out stretched hand? What a dog!
